Angela Roth is the mother of superhero Raven. In her youth, she became part of a satanic cult and was seduced by the demon Trigon. This left her pregnant and unable to raise the child. Azar brought her to the dimension Azarath, where Angela was given the name "Arella" and separated from the baby. They were kept apart so the child would not develop an emotional bond. Her daughter would go on to become a member of the Teen Titans. Arella was created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez, first appearing in New Teen Titans #3. (1981) |
