After Orochimaru's death, Sasuke came to the Southern Hideout to recruit jailer Karin. Tetsuru expressed doubt that Sasuke could have actually killed Orochimaru. He and his fellow prisoners were later freed on the promise they would spread word that Sasuke killed Orochimaru and freed them.
